San Roque de Mandaluyong Parish, located in Barangka Ilaya, Mandaluyong City, started as a small chapel or “visita” decades ago before officially becoming a parish on March 11, 1971, under the Archdiocese of Manila. Its history is tied to the devotion of local Catholics to San Roque, the patron saint of the sick, with the community working together to build a larger church, consecrated by Cardinal Rufino Santos in 1971.
Today, it serves around 60,000 parishioners and includes five sub-parishes, like San Roque East and St. Jude, while offering unique features like a columbarium in the basement and a mortuary. The parish is known for its active community programs, such as youth groups and social services, and celebrates its feast day every August 16.
