The Minor Basilica and National Shrine of San Lorenzo Ruiz, commonly known as Binondo Church, is located in Binondo, Manila, and was founded in 1596 by Dominican priests, making it one of the oldest churches in the Philippines and the oldest place of worship in Manila for Chinese Filipinos. Originally dedicated to Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary, it was renamed in 1998 in honor of San Lorenzo Ruiz, the first Filipino saint and martyr, and elevated to a minor basilica in 2010 by the Vatican.
This historic church, with its Baroque architecture, features a grand facade, twin bell towers, and ornate interiors. Its location in the heart of Manila’s Chinatown makes it a cultural and religious landmark that attracts both locals and tourists.
