The Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral in Cebu City was established in 1565 by Spanish conquistador Miguel López de Legazpi and Augustinian friars, making it one of the oldest Catholic churches in the Philippines and the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cebu.
Rebuilt and renovated multiple times due to typhoons and earthquakes, the current neoclassical structure was completed in the late 19th century, with its facade featuring intricate carvings and twin bell towers.
Dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, this historic church is a major religious and cultural landmark, hosting significant events like the Sinulog Festival and the feast day on December 8.
